The Foothill-De Anza Community College District is currently accepting applications for the faculty position of Respiratory Therapy Program Director/Instructor, Foothill College.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION INCLUDE:
Under the direction of the Dean, Biological and Health Sciences, coordinate student recruitment, selection, guidance, instruction, and evaluation. Assist in the hiring and development of part-time Respiratory Therapy faculty. Manage the program budget. Responsible for the purchase of department equipment and supplies. Coordinate the program's community advisory committee, accreditation process and NBRC (National Board of Respiratory Care) database. Teach in classroom, lab and clinical settings. Oversee and direct all aspects of the program, including the organization, administration, continuous review, planning, development, and general effectiveness of the program.
Standard duties expected of all faculty include development and evaluation of curricula, maintaining scheduled office hours, attending department and division meetings, pursuing professional growth activities, and performing other duties consistent with the role of an instructor. Instructors also have the opportunity to serve on District and college committees and participate in campus extra-curricular activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty and staff.
Bachelor's degree.
Four years of current full-time experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
Licensed to practice respiratory therapy in the State of California (RCP), holds RRT credential from the NBRC.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree.
Management, supervisory experience.
Proficient in curriculum design, program administration, evaluation, instruction, and counseling.
Experience in grant writing and budget management.
In addition, successful candidates will demonstrate the following:
Knowledge of the principles and process of instructional design and curriculum development.
Knowledge of current clinical and theoretical aspects of Respiratory Therapy.
Ability to teach and communicate effectively with students.
Ability to work closely and cooperatively with colleagues.
Ability to work with academically and culturally diverse students.

HIRING RANGE: $63,168-$103,744 annually plus benefits; actual placement is non-negotiable and is based on applicant's verified education and experience.
